2012 JPC Aquatics Winter Short Course Development Meet - Now 3rd June
JPC Aquatics will be holding their 3rd annual short course meet on Sunday 3rd June at John Paul College, Daisy Hill. Please note: the program was revised on 7th May - meet files downloaded prior to this should be discarded. Nominations to the race secretary by Monday 21st May @ 5pm. 2011-2012 JX Award winners announced
Congratulations to our JHSC 2011-2012 JX Award winners. The Australian Junior Excellence Program(JX) gives goals and rewards swimmers for the effort they put into becoming a fit, efficient swimmer. This season we had 39 award winners.  Well done everyone!
 
Winter Training Block 1 - 8th May to 21st June
Our first Winter Training block this year will run from May 8th - June 21st. Please fill out the Winter Block 1 Booking form and lodge it by May 8th. The training sessions will run Monday to Thursday Afternoon (Junior – 3:15pm to 4:15pm, Intermediate/Senior – 4:15pm to 5:45pm). You can also download a copy of our Winter Training Schedule.
 
Paniyiri Greek Festival - 19th and 20th May 
Paniyiri Greek Festival will be held on Saturday May 19 and Sunday May 20, this year, making it the longest running cultural festival in Queensland and the longest running Greek festival in Australia! Location: Musgrave Park and The Greek Club - Edmondstone Street, South Brisbane. Further details here.
 
Bunnings Fund Raising BBQ - Sunday 10th June
We have been offered a date for the Bunnings BBQ at the Oxley Store - Sunday 10th June. This will be a great fundraiser for the Club; as we get closer we will start to organise volunteers, rosters, food etc. - so we look forward to your support. Thanks to Vicki for securing us this opportunity!
 
Qantas Socceroos to face Japan in Brisbane - Tuesday 12th June
The Qantas Socceroos will play their first home match of the final stage of their 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign in Brisbane on Tuesday 12 June when they host Japan. As the top ranked team in the group, the Socceroos have a bye on the opening match day and will play their first match of the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers away to Oman on Friday 8 June 2012 before returning to Australia for their first home match against Japan. Commercial A Grade Short Course Qualifying Meet - Sunday 17th June
Commercial Swimming Club will be holding a short course qualifying meet on Sunday 17th June. This Meet is sanctioned by Swimming Queensland and times will be recognised as official qualifying times for the Australian & Queensland Short Course Championships. Nominations to the race secretary by Friday 1st June @ 5pm. The meet flyer and program can be found here.

Olympic Games 27th July - 12th Aug 2012
The Ceremonies at London 2012 Games trace their origins as far back as the Ancient Games in Greece. Evolving over the centuries, an estimated one billion people will watch the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Games. The London 2012 Olympic Games will feature 26 sports, which break down into 39 disciplines. Keep up with news and follow progress on the London 2012 website.
 
2010-11 JHSC YPS Qualifiers
We had 5 qualifiers this year for Swimming Australia's Youth Performance Squad (YPS). Congratulations to Michael Canham (Bronze), Jye Cornwell (Silver), Tatum Marais (Silver), Liam Roberts (Silver), Eddie Zhou (Bronze). The Australian Youth Performance Squad is an exciting new initiative designed to reward swimmers aged 13-18 for their performances in the pool. Full results here.
