The 2011 Kingfisher Cup has been swum and won by Jake Buckley, edging out Laura Rheinlander and Liam Roberts in a very exciting and competitive final. The 2011 finalists were:

• Lane 4             -   Teejay Paterson
• Lane 5             -   Trent (The Terminator) Paterson
• Lane 6             -   Laura Rheinlander

Jake was very gracious in the post-final interview, putting his success down to his training regime (he'd earlier won trainer of the month). Congratulations and great swimming Jake - good luck at the State Championships!

Earlier, a 'flop-off' was required when the judges couldn't split three of the contestants in the annual belly flop contest. Competition was tight and commitment paramount as Kaleb Welfare, Josh McIntyre and Jye Cornwell took to the blocks a second time. In the end, Jye's style and size won the night to the cheers and grimmaces of the crowd - hitting the water in a memorable horizontal smackdown. One to watch for next year: Kaleb.

In the kids v parents races, the scorers put away their pencils as the kids took a commading 6-1 lead. It goes without saying that the parent handicaps will be reviewed for next year. Thanks everyone for a great night, especially to Coach Rob for some awesome commentary.
