Jamboree Heights Swimming Club

Inter-Club Carnivals

As all swimmers registered with JHSC are registered as Competitive Swimmers, all are eligible for Inter-Club Carnival selection (non-financial members are ineligible for carnival selection).

Rules at Carnivals

  • Swimmers representing Jamboree Heights Swimming Club Inc. in carnivals including SQ/BSA meets must wear official Club costumes and caps.
  • All swimmers must remain in the marshalling area when competing in an event.
  • Any swimmer who leaves the marshalling area and misses an event will not be considered for selection in the next carnival.
  • All swimmers must obey instructions from the Carnival Marshals and the Coaching staff.
  • Swimmers are representing the Club and the Code of Conduct applies irrespective of the venue. Any breaches will not be tolerated.  Swimmers who do so may be suspended from the carnival and may not be considered for selection in the next carnival.

Conditions for nominating for SQ/BSA carnivals

Any club member who meets the qualifying time may nominate for SQ/BSA swimming carnivals. These are posted on the notice board and the web site - each will have its own nomination procedures.

Any member who enters these events should be aware that fines can be imposed imposed by SQ on those swimmers who do not meet the qualifying times and cannot prove that they have met them at another time (eg other SQ sanctioned meets but excluding club swims). All fines incurred must be paid by the swimmer.

Nomination Procedures

In order to enter a Swimming Meet organised by SQ/BSA or other SQ/BSA affiliated clubs, a swimmer must nominate and pay the entry fees through the club.  Event details along with the cost per event will be posted on the web site for those wishing to enter. Each swim meet will have a cut-off date for nominations. Nomination procedures will be provided for each meet and further details can be obtained from the Race Secretary
