London Olympics 2012. Preparations for the London 2012 Games are on track and construction on all the new main venues and infrastructure in the Olympic Park is well underway. 15th FINA World Championships - Barcelona 2013. The 15th FINA World Championships are to be held in 2013 in Barcelona, Spain from July 19 to August 4.The Worlds were originally awarded to Dubai, UAE in July 2009; however, Dubai withdrew as host in March 2010. FINA then re-bid the meet, and Barcelona was selected on September 26, 2010.
Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014. Glasgow 2014 will sell an estimated 1,000,000 tickets to some 250 medal events. The Games will be broadcast to hundreds of millions more - the Commonwealth accounting for about a third of the world's population.. Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Bid 2018. The Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Bid team has worked hard to create a winning bid book which was submitted to the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) on 11 May 2011. The final decision of the host city will be announced in November 2011.
FINA, the Fédération Internationale de Natation, is the world governing body for the five Aquatic Disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Synchronised Swimming and Open Water Swimming. Swimming Australia is the national sporting organisation responsible for the promotion and development of swimming in Australia at all levels. SA has almost 100,000 members and just over 1100 swimming clubs nationwide.
Swimming Queensland, founded in 1898, is the peak body for the administration of swimming activities in Qld. The Brisbane Swimming Association promotes and conducts events to further the sport of swimming within the Brisbane Region. With an advanced query function, results can be searched for by multiple attributes.  Swimming World magazine has been the world's leading independent resource for swimming since 1960. One Sport includes the Telstra Australian Swimming Championships, Pan Pacific Championships, Australian Short Course Championships, FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) and Swimmer of the Year. The South West News is a local community newspaper for the South West Suburbs of Brisbane and part of the Quest Newspaper group.
